It will then ONLY install that effect(there is also a FXAA that you could add) In the window that opened I unchecked everything but SMAA When asked about installing cataloge select 'yes' Install lect ROTTR.EXE(in your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rise of the Tomb Raider) Not sure how far you got but I set it up like this: This was taken with in-game AA OFF.and only using Reshade SMAA effect. You can see it's most noticeable with the 'tent' lines.

You could try using DSR in the nvidia control pannel to run the game at a higher res like 1440p and then downscale back to 1080p. It looks great but its definatly not worth it unless you have the spare power.
#Rise of the tomb raider reshade 1080p
I have a 1080ti and still struggle to get 1080p 60fps in some areas with SSAAx4. As soon as I turn on SSAAx2 I lose like 15 fps or more even in the less demanding areas. It's also a graphical improvement that makes a HUGE difference (to me).Ĥ790K 4.5ghz, HyperX Savage 2400mhz ram (16gigs), EVGA GTX980ti SC (that reaches 1492mhz when it boost) and I can barely maintain 60fps in the most demanding areas of the game at 1080p with FXAA. Oneof the main reasons why I became a PC gamer in 2007 was because of the jaggies on consoles. Originally posted by dias_flac_0g:I don't know how a screenshot can help. I say BEASTLY simply because my PC is also a good PC.Ĥ790K 4.5ghz, HyperX Savage 2400mhz ram (16gigs), EVGA GTX980ti SC (that reaches 1492mhz when it boost) and I can barely maintain 60fps in the most demanding areas of the game at 1080p with FXAA. I play the game with everything set to maximum and I can barely get away with 60fps in the Geothermal Valley. Lol You must have a BEASTLY rig to maintain a buttery SMOOTH 60fps with SSAAx4 and everything set to max (very high not the very high preset). I then turned off AA completely and it looks exactly the same as when I have SMAA turned on. I was like wtf? Is AA even on? When I turned on SMAA.

It's not just foliage or distant objects either it's Lara herself that has a ton of jaggies too. I'm stuck with FXAA since SMAA doesn't work. Both SSAAx2 SSAAx4 look great (my fav form of AA) but those two cost way too many FPS in this game. It's also a graphical improvement that makes a HUGE difference (to me).įXAA looks way better cuz it actually removes a lot of jaggies/steps.
